How can Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Help?

You may benefit from an assessment if you experience:

Bladder Leakage when Coughing, Sneezing, Lifting or Exercising.

A Sudden or Frequent Urge to Pass Urine.

A feeling of Heaviness, Dragging or pressure in the vagina.

Pelvic or Vulval Discomfort.

Pain or Discomfort during Sex.

Difficulty Returning to Exercise following Pregnancy or Surgery.

These symptoms can have different causes, and you don't need to know exactly what's wrong before getting help.

Philosophy

  Karen Kendall,

At Reconnect Physiotherapy & Women's Health, I always aim to look at the bigger picture around your symptoms such as life commitments and other health conditions that will influence the approach we take.

With 25 years experience in both the NHS and Private Sector I have been passionate about improving access to focused Women's Health Care related to Pregnancy, Gynaecological Health and Menopause.

I am HCPC ( Health & Care Professions Council) registered

and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Affiliate member of POGP (Pelvic, Obstetric & Gynaecological Physiotherapy).

The Power of Touch

 'Hands on' Techniques'

I am a firm believer in the power of touch and how it impacts our nervous system and our ability to heal and cope with the challenges that our body deals with.

Exercise

Exercise Therapy comes in many forms, strength, flexibility, endurance, balance. Physiotherapy can help you find out what's the right approach for you and it's not just pelvic floor exercises.

Acupuncture

With over 20 years experience in using Acupuncture for Headaches, Chronic pain and Gynaecological issues.  Acupuncture can be a highly beneficial treatment alongside more traditional approaches.

I offer both Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture as well as Dry Needling.

As a Team Lead in the NHS and Clinical Lead in the Private Sector I also have a wealth of experience across

Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal conditions, Acute and Chronic, as well as my special interest in Women's Health.

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2002 with

 a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy.
